Kagadi district Road Equipment has been returned back to Kampala due to misuse

Kagadi district Road Equipment has been recalled back to the Ministry of Works and Transport headquarters in Kampala on allegations of Misuse.

It will be remembered that some few weeks ago, the same equipment was impounded and operators arrested in Rugashari Town Council while they were transacting private businesses.

These were later released on police bond and went into hiding.

Planned Traffic Flow Changes at Karuma Bridge along Kampala—Gulu Highway

  Karuma Bridge The Government of Uganda through the Uganda National Roads Authority [UNRA] has engaged a consultant to conduct a diagnostic study of the Karuma bridge along the Kampala—Gulu Highway.  The study aims to assess the current condition and remaining lifespan of the bridge. The findings will inform potential interventions to reinforce the bridge, ensuring its longevity as plans for a new bridge take shape. To gather the necessary data, the consultant will conduct detailed inspections and measurements to ensure collection of reliable information. This will necessitate closing part of the bridge for short periods, to allow the consultant carry out the assessments safely. In the near future, following adequate consultations with the relevant stakeholders and to be able to undertake this critical assignment on the National Road Network, we will notify the general public on the changes in traffic flow at Karuma Bridge.
