 The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon Maj.Gen (Rtd), Kahinda Otafiire, has arrived at the Police Training School in Kabalye Masindi to preside over the graduation ceremony for 261 officers who have completed a six-month Officer Basic Course Intake 06/23-24

  Hon. Musa Ecweru, the State Minister for Works is now at Karuma Bridge along with UNRA Engineers and officers from Uganda Police & Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The team is conducting an emergency inspection following identified signs of damage on the bridge structure and to determine mitigation measures.

Kagadi district Road Equipment has been recalled back to the Ministry of Works and Transport headquarters in Kampala on allegations of Misuse. It will be remembered that some few weeks ago, the same equipment was impounded and operators arrested in Rugashari Town Council while they were transacting private businesses. These were later released on police bond and went into hiding. Details coming in our bulletin.

Fort Portal city is hosting the national celebrations for International Labour Day. The national celebrations are taking place at Mukabura Grounds-St. Leo's Kyegobe in the city's central division under the theme "Improving Access to Labour Justice: A prerequisite for Increased Productivity". President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is chief Guest and over 58 workers will be medalled at the event.

Three people have been rushed to at Kyebando Health Center IV fighting for their lives after being injured when Mbaya Runaku stream burst its banks, sweeping away a yet to be established number of Kisalizi primary school pupils in Kyebando Sub County, Kibaale district who were crossing today afternoon. The fast running waters of the swampy stream has also swept away crops and several domestic animals that were grazing.  Mbaya Runaku stream that separates Kyebando and Kasimbi Sub Counties has submerged the Kibaale-Kyebando-Kasimbi-Pachwa trunk road that cuts through to Pachwa of Kagadi district. Residents who were found at the scene today afternoon say that a group of young pupils from Kisalizi parents’ primary school were crossing enroute back home at a round 1pm when the stream incidentally burst its banks causing floods as it also swept away the papyrus.
